Chess, told as a story.

Every game becomes a comic book, a chivalric tale, or a grandmaster's review — three renderings of the same moves, handcrafted page by page.

What happened

The story behind it

Danzhou, 2015: sixteen-year-old Wei Yi plays 22.Rxf7 and drags the black king from f7 to h3 — across the entire board, through White's own camp — before mating it with the last piece it can never take. Hailed at once as the first immortal game of the twenty-first century.
